Native e-signatures, AML/KYC and payroll with published prices. CARET Legal brings native email and a long history.
A sourced comparison

CARET Legal, the product formerly called Zola Suite, includes native accounting with a three-way trust reconciliation report and quotes its plans on request. LawAOS publishes per-seat prices and adds e-signatures, AML/KYC and payroll to the same record.

Both products keep a general ledger and three-way trust reconciliation inside the system. CARET Legal's pricing page asks you to request pricing and mentions one-time implementation fees; e-signature comes through RMail and rules-based deadlines through LawToolBox. LawAOS publishes $29-$119/user/month and signs documents natively.

CARET Legal facts read on CARET Legal's own site in September 2026, each linked under the table. LawAOS cells name shipped modules.

Choose CARET Legal when
You want email and calendaring native to the practice system, rules-based court deadlines through LawToolBox, or phone support with onboarding and data migration included.

CARET Legal's integration page lists RMail for e-signatures. In LawAOS, signing and client access are part of the matter.

Every panel below is rendered from the product’s own components with fictional records for Okafor & Byrne LLP.

Signatures and the portal are built in

Signers sign in order or in parallel, the certificate of completion is appended to the executed PDF, and the signed copy is saved back to the matter.

Client money reconciles three ways

Each client has a ledger. The database refuses a drawdown larger than the client's cleared balance, and a filed three-way reconciliation compares the statement, the book and the sum of client ledgers.

Every LawAOS cell names a shipped module. Every CARET Legal cell comes from CARET Legal's own pages, read in September 2026; a row those pages do not mention says "not confirmed".
