Lawyaw is now Clio Draft: Clio lists that change among its Clio Draft resources. Clio Draft offers court forms for all 50 US states, online client questionnaires that map to templates, AI that turns existing Word files into reusable templates, and built-in e-signature.
Clio Draft's pricing is not published; its pricing page says contact sales (Get in touch). LawAOS publishes Solo $29, Practice $69 and Firm $119 per user per month, and document templates are part of every plan.
LawAOS document templates are simple {{variable}} fill-ins that the firm writes, completed in a form. There are no questionnaires, no conditional logic and no court forms. A firm that depends on court forms should stay with Clio Draft or a similar forms product.
Clio Draft's page describes client and matter details flowing into its templates from Clio Manage, so firms on another practice system ask how it fits their workflow. Its pricing is contact sales, so there is no published figure to budget against.
Some firms need only straightforward letters, engagement terms and agreements filled from a few fields, and would rather keep templates in the same system as matters, signatures and billing.
Clio Draft covers work LawAOS does not do at all: court forms that fill from case data, questionnaires that collect answers from the client, and templates that populate a whole document set for a case.

- Price the whole setup, including the practice system your drafting tool depends on, not only the drafting tool itself.

Write the document in the LawAOS editor and mark each changing value as a {{variable}} field, such as a client name, a date or a fee. Word files open in the editor, which imports .docx.

- Document templates are {{variable}} fill-ins the firm writes itself: none ship pre-built, there are no questionnaires or conditional logic, and there is no court-forms library.
- E-signature requests can be sent only for documents created in the LawAOS editor that contain a signature block, not for arbitrary uploaded PDFs, and there are no signature templates.
- Moving from Lawyaw: a general firm-data importer is not yet shipped. The LawAOS Switch importer at Settings > Data imports brings in contacts, companies and matters from Clio, MyCase or PracticePanther exports, or from a CSV, XLSX or ZIP file, with column mapping, duplicate handling and a review step before anything is committed. Documents are uploaded, and time entries, invoices and trust balances are not imported.
