For immigration law

Collect documents through intake forms, track every filing date with reminders, bill clients in their own currency and keep them informed through a portal.

Immigration law practice management software should track every application, its filing and expiry dates, and the documents behind it, while keeping clients informed across time zones and currencies. The work is document-heavy and date-driven, so a missed reminder or a lost passport scan is the main risk.

LawAOS covers the practice layer. Intake forms at a shareable link include a file upload field for identity and supporting documents. Each matter records deadlines, key dates and limitation dates, each with its source note, and daily reminders go out in-app and by email. Clients see matter status, shared documents, messages and invoices in a portal they open with a magic link.

It does not cover the government side. LawAOS has no government form library and no filing integrations with any immigration authority, so forms are prepared and filed in the firm's usual tools and the results are kept on the matter.

  • Application type and stage, using the firm's own matter types and stages.
  • Filing dates, biometrics appointments, interview dates and document expiry dates as recorded deadlines or key dates.
  • Identity, civil and financial documents, stored on the matter with version history.
  • Every party on the application, so conflict checks cover sponsors, employers and family members.
  • Fees and disbursements such as filing fees, couriers and translations, recorded as billable expenses.

Invoices in the client's currency
Each invoice can use one of about 120 ISO currencies, and the firm's exchange-rate table converts figures for reports.
Dates and time zones
Date format and time zone are set per firm and per user, so a reminder lands on the right day wherever the lawyer works.
Flat fees per application
Many immigration services are sold at a fixed price; the flat fee arrangement is set per matter, with fee milestones for staged payment.
Plain status for clients
The portal's Matter status area shows the current stage and the next deadline, which answers the most common client question.

  1. Collect the enquiry and documents

A Client Intake form collects details and uploaded files, and the enquiry lands in the intake pipeline.

  2. Check conflicts and open the matter

Search every party for conflicts, then convert the lead into a matter that reuses the existing contact.

  3. Record dates

Add filing, appointment and expiry dates to the matter; the limitation-date calculator stores a computed date as a real deadline.

  4. Keep the documents

Store supporting documents on the matter, draft letters in the built-in editor and export them to .docx or .pdf.

  5. Bill and update the client

Invoice a flat fee in the client's currency and share status and documents through the portal.

Stated plainly, so you can decide before you sign up rather than after.

  • LawAOS has no government form library and no filing or case-status integrations with any immigration authority.
  • No agency or court rules ship, so deadlines are entered or calculated from the firm's own rules rather than generated from a rules library.
  • Clients cannot upload documents through the portal; they upload through an intake form's file field or send files to the firm.
  • AML and KYC screening checks only the US Treasury OFAC SDN list, and there is no third-party identity verification.
